Kimi Antonelli has been forced to skip all media activities on Thursday ahead of the Formula 1 Mexico Grand Prix weekend after being sidelined by a viral illness that left the young contender feeling unwell.
The Mercedes outfit officially confirmed that their star driver received formal clearance from the governing body to sit out media duties in order to prioritize his recovery ahead of the upcoming free practice sessions.
"We expect him to be back tomorrow," an official team spokesperson stated to the press corps gathered at the paddock for the crucial round of the 2026 world championship.

The setback arrives as the Italian youngster stands firmly on the brink of capturing a historic maiden world title, which would comfortably crown him as the youngest champion in the rich history of the sport.
Meanwhile, Valtteri Bottas also missed media engagements for Cadillac Racing as both teams manage minor health scares within the paddock ahead of the competitive on-track action.
