Jorge Martin heads into the second half of MotoGP 2026 with a smile. The Aprilia Racing rider tops the standings, having collected five podiums – including one win – in Grand Prix races, plus four podiums – with two victories – in Tissot Sprints. Those numbers aren't just stats; they're proof of the consistency Martin has sought since moving to the Noale factory squad.
The summer break, however, was anything but ordinary. Martin completed the Transpyrenees Challenge, a 900-kilometer cycling adventure across the Pyrenees mountains from the Mediterranean to the Atlantic Ocean. Seven days in the saddle, over climbs and valleys, served as a mental reset before returning to racing. "The break was very positive. I could rest, train intensively, and fulfill an old dream," he said.
Now attention turns to Silverstone, a circuit with sweet memories for Martin. In 2024, he finished second in both the Grand Prix and Sprint. But this year is different: he arrives as championship leader, with pressure riding on his shoulders. "Silverstone is a track I love. I have many great memories there," said the rider nicknamed Martinator.
The second half promises fierce battles. Francesco Bagnaia and Marc Marquez will surely apply pressure, while Aprilia's pace on fast tracks like Silverstone will be tested. Martin, though, refuses to feel burdened. "I can't wait to get back on track with my Aprilia bike and work with the team again," he insisted.
With 11 rounds remaining, every point will be precious. Martin knows all too well that a slim lead can vanish in a single corner. But the Transpyrenees taught him about endurance: "It's about keeping moving, no matter what." Now, he's ready to prove his biggest adventure this season hasn't even started.
