When the lights went out at the Circuit of the Americas, Lewis Hamilton had to swallow a bitter pill following a weekend plagued by technical struggles in Formula 1. The British world champion made no secret of his disappointment after securing only a fourth-place finish. Setup inconsistencies proved to be a major hurdle throughout the Austin race weekend, forcing the team into significant modifications ahead of Saturday's running.
These delicate circumstances stripped the car of its maximum potential pace. Throughout the Grand Prix, the machinery simply did not feel optimal to consistently fight at the sharp end of the grid. Such technical limitations mirrored similar sensations felt months earlier at the home race at Silverstone, where front wing configuration differences severely hindered cornering capabilities.
A golden opportunity to claim a podium finish was effectively squashed in the closing stages of the race. The deployment of a Virtual Safety Car at a critical juncture completely ruined any remaining strategic maneuvers. The timing of the neutralisation period slammed the door shut on any potential final charge to overtake Max Verstappen for third place.

Deep frustration boiled over when addressing a question from Sky Sports UK journalist Craig Slater. When asked about a potential double podium and whether a late move on his rival would have happened without the VSC intervention, the veteran driver gave a despondent reply: "Sono tutti avrei potuto, avrei dovuto, sarebbe potuto essereg" highlighting a weekend filled with what-ifs.
Despite the setbacks, high praise was directed toward his teammate for delivering a strong overall performance. Speaking to F1TV, he commended Charles Leclerc for executing a stellar job to maximize the car's potential against McLaren in the constructors' standings. Intensive data analysis remains the primary focus for the final two rounds of the championship.
