American automotive giant Ford is gearing up for a major assault on the top tier of international endurance racing, fielding an as-yet unnamed Hypercar prototype powered by a roaring engine setup designed to shake up the grid.
The machine is widely expected to become an instant fan favourite, courtesy of its thunderous 5.4-litre Coyote V8 powerplant that delivers an acoustic roar capable of rivalling the Cadillac V-Series.R, standing out as the championship's only other V8-powered Hypercar contender.
Targeting endurance racing's ultimate prize, the Detroit manufacturer will make its long-awaited return to the premier class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2027 by deploying a two-car factory Hypercar effort to fight for overall victory.

As part of the rigorous development roadmap, Australia's Matt Campbell has officially been confirmed as one of the squad's six factory drivers tasked with developing and racing the prototype ahead of the 2027 campaign.
Track testing is currently operating at a relentless pace following a recent development hit-out at Monza, with the outfit now heading to Spain to continue crucial testing sessions at Aragon before an official global launch date slated for November 26.
