Charles Leclerc will sport a striking new look at the Singapore Grand Prix. Ferrari has revealed a special-edition black race suit for the Monegasque driver, departing from the traditional red and white that usually adorns the Scuderia.
The suit is said to "embody a night under the Singapore lights." Alongside the race suit, Ferrari has launched a limited-edition cap, available for fans to purchase on October 5. This move is clearly aimed at capitalizing on the iconic night race at the Marina Bay Street Circuit.
Fan reactions have been mixed. On social media, some called the new look "fire," while others questioned the choice for Singapore. "The Dark Leclerc era has arrived," one fan wrote on Reddit. Another pointed out the HP logo, calling it "ugly as hell" and out of place.
On track, Leclerc's season has been a mixed bag. He currently sits fifth in the drivers' standings with 167 points, 125 behind leader Kimi Antonelli and 24 behind his Ferrari teammate Lewis Hamilton, who is third.
Ferrari is under pressure to improve performance. Some fans argue the team should focus on racing fundamentals rather than special suits and helmets. Still, this marketing push has generated buzz ahead of a busy schedule.
Before Singapore, F1 heads to the Azerbaijan Grand Prix on September 24-26, followed by the Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia on October 2-4. Then, the lights go out at Marina Bay for the Singapore Grand Prix on October 9-11.
