The race weekend at the Sepang Circuit left a mysterious note for Fabio Di Giannantonio after he secured a solid fifth-place finish in the 10-lap Sprint. Starting from sixth on the grid, the Italian rider managed to showcase competitive pace, crossing the line five seconds behind the race winner. However, beneath the respectable result, he confessed that an undisclosed factor held him back from extracting his true potential on the hot Malaysian asphalt.
Speaking to MotoGP.com following the intense encounter, the key rider for the VR46 Racing Team expressed his satisfaction with the bike's overall feeling. He praised how well the machine responded and performed its intended job, yet emphasized that lingering obstacles prevented him from unleashing the full capability of his package against the front-runners.
"I’m really happy about the feeling with the bike, honestly," Di Giannantonio stated. "In the race, I understood that the feeling was really good and the bike is doing what it has to do. So, we have a really great bike. A pity that we have other things that don’t allow us, at the moment, to really show our potential."

Analyzing the battle at the sharp end of the grid, he noted that the leading contenders still held an advantage in race pace. Despite this performance delta, he remains confident in his ability to challenge the front group and narrow the gap during Sunday's full-distance grand prix before the paddock heads toward the rescheduled Qatar Grand Prix at Lusail.
Beyond the undisclosed mechanical hindrance, the track condition at Sepang remained a major talking point. Reiterating his earlier remarks comparing the circuit to a motocross track due to loose stones and surface imperfections, he highlighted the physical hazard posed by the debris scattered across the racing line during high-speed combat.
