Max Verstappen's flawless weekend at Marina Bay continued as he claimed pole position for the grand prix, beating the Ferraris in a tense Formula 1 qualifying session. The reigning champion's supreme pace on the challenging street circuit followed up on his earlier impressive form throughout the practice and sprint running.
During the critical Q3 shootout, Verstappen's first flying lap of 1m31.373s proved to be more than enough to top the timesheet and secure the premier grid slot. Charles Leclerc emerged as his closest challenger behind the wheel of his Ferrari, finishing just 0.054s adrift of the Red Bull driver's benchmark.
Lewis Hamilton made it two Ferraris inside the top three, slotting in just 0.069s behind Leclerc after a fiercely contested qualifying hour. Kimi Antonelli is set to line up on the second row alongside Hamilton after securing fourth-fastest in the upgraded Mercedes machinery.

The McLaren camp faced a mixed session following their earlier sprint collision, with Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri sharing the third row. George Russell split them in qualifying using the older-spec Mercedes, though Russell will drop to the back of the grid due to a power unit penalty.
Further down the order, Pierre Gasly led the midfield charge for Alpine by taking eighth in qualifying, beating the Racing Bulls pairing of Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad. Meanwhile, Isack Hadjar endured a nightmare Saturday after suffering terminal reliability issues before managing a timed lap in Q1.
