The second practice session for the 2026 Formula 1 Mexico City Grand Prix at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez delivered an intensely competitive spectacle as top drivers immediately pushed their machinery to the absolute limit in the thin air.
Charles Leclerc emerged as the pacesetter after clocking an impressive lap time that highlighted the strong pace of the Ferrari challenger on the high-altitude circuit, edging out his closest rivals by a narrow margin.
The battle at the very front was fiercely contested under the paddock lights, with Lando Norris relying on his McLaren performance package to secure second place, finishing just 0.103 seconds adrift of the session leader.

Meanwhile, George Russell rounded out the top three for Mercedes with a lap time only 0.106 seconds off the benchmark, signaling that the upcoming qualifying battle will be exceptionally close.
Behind the leading pack, rising star Kimi Antonelli once again caught the attention of the paddock by claiming fourth position, closely followed by reigning champion Max Verstappen driving his Red Bull down in fifth place.
As reported by Motorsport Week, the practice session also provided teams with crucial data regarding tyre degradation and long-run race simulations ahead of the main Grand Prix event.
