Formula 1 driver Esteban Ocon has broken his silence to firmly reject French media speculation regarding an alleged physical altercation during his dramatic fallout with the Haas F1 Team at the Mexico City Grand Prix weekend.
The tension behind closed doors reached a boiling point following a public disagreement with his race engineer during Friday practice sessions at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez. Following intense internal discussions on Friday night, the team made the surprising call to bench the Frenchman for the remainder of the event, drafting in Toyota WEC reserve driver Ryo Hirakawa to pilot the car from FP3 onward.
Amid swirling unverified rumours across European media outlets concerning the exact nature of his friction with team principal Ayao Komatsu, Ocon's camp issued a definitive denial via social media channels to set the record straight.

"Following the recent decision from Haas F1 Team confirming that I will not be participating in this weekend’s Mexico City Grand Prix, I wish to formally address some media reports and speculation surrounding the situation," his official channels posted.
"Last night, a difference in viewpoints led to a discussion with the parties involved. Whilst I acknowledge that this took place, I categorically reject any reports or allegations suggesting that any form of physical violence was used to resolve any differences of any nature," the statement continued.
Ocon further emphasized his strong condemnation of violence in any scenario while urging media and fans to refrain from ungrounded speculations while the situation is actively handled. Uncertainty continues to shroud whether the grand prix winner will step back into the cockpit for the upcoming Brazilian Grand Prix or conclude his tenure with the American squad.
