Esteban Ocon and the Haas Formula 1 team have officially confirmed that their partnership will conclude at the end of the 2026 season. Haas Team Principal Ayao Komatsu expressed his gratitude for Ocon's dedication. "I'd like to thank Esteban for everything he's contributed to the team since joining us in 2025," Komatsu said in a team statement. "His professionalism and commitment have proved valuable as we continue to grow as an organisation. Together this year we tackled the challenge of a major regulation change. Esteban's driving experience and input were significant as we've worked hard to develop the VF-26 across the season."
Komatsu added that the team's focus remains on the remainder of the season. "There's still plenty of racing ahead. And our focus remains on working together to maximize every opportunity through to the final race of the year," he stated. This underscores Haas's desire to finish the season strongly despite Ocon's impending departure.
It is currently unclear whether Ocon will remain on the F1 grid for 2027. However, with an outstanding resume and several seats yet to be confirmed, the Frenchman may not be saying farewell just yet. The driver market for next season remains fluid, and Haas's decision could trigger further movements.
For Haas, losing Ocon means they must find a replacement capable of partnering with Bearman. The American team is striving to improve its constructors' championship position, and driver stability will be key.
