The Moto3 Japanese Grand Prix delivered a nail-biting finish at Motegi as David Almansa fended off a last-lap charge to claim his third victory of the season. Starting from pole, the young Spaniard had to manage fading grip levels while holding off intense pressure in the closing stages of the race.
The early narrative was shaped by Brian Uriarte, who surged to the front before being handed a double long lap penalty for grid infringements by the Red Bull KTM Ajo crew. Uriarte's setback handed the lead to Almansa, who immediately found himself stalked by Maximo Quiles after the Intact GP rider found his rhythm.
Quiles waited until the final tour to make a decisive move, but admitted in parc ferme that championship pressure crept in, causing him to hesitate twice on potential overtaking spots. Almansa capitalized brilliantly with a masterclass in defensive riding, crossing the line just 0.046s ahead of the chasing Aspar machine.

Alvaro Carpe secured a lonely third place after dropping away from the lead duel, while a charging Uriarte recovered brilliantly to take fourth and claim top rookie honours ahead of Rico Salmela. Despite Motegi traditionally favoring Honda, KTM machinery completely locked out the upper echelons of the points paying positions.
