Nicolo Bulega has officially sealed the 2026 WorldSBK title, and the moment belongs not only to him but also to Ducati. Ducati Corse general manager Gigi Dall'Igna has heaped praise on Bulega and the entire team behind the all-conquering Panigale V4 R.
Bulega has been sensational throughout 2026. In 30 races, he has taken 26 wins, 30 podiums, and nine poles from ten qualifying sessions. Remarkably, he has not finished outside the top two all season, and has no DNFs. Such consistency has made him a deserving world champion.
But behind Bulega's success lies an undeniable machine: the Ducati Panigale V4 R. The bike has won all 30 races this season, filled every podium since Race 2 in Hungary, and put three Ducati riders in the top three of the standings, with seven of the top ten.
Dall'Igna emphasised that this success is the result of hard work from many people. "I'm really proud about Nicolo's job this year, but also about all the people that worked on this bike: the teams, the guys that worked at Borgo Panigale," he told WorldSBK.com after Race 2 at Cremona. "Everybody did an amazing job and I'm really proud for them."
He added, "He won almost all the races of the 2026 season, so for sure he did an unbelievable job. But for sure also the bike performed very well because the bike, it's won all the races and all the teams that use this bike did a fantastic result this season. I'm really proud about that."
At Cremona, Bulega took a cautious approach with second-place finishes in all three races to secure the title with minimal risk. Nevertheless, the Panigale V4 R still won each race in the hands of Iker Lecuona, who also took pole position. Lecuona, who is MotoGP-bound, praised Bulega as "perfect every race" in 2026.
With this title, Bulega cements Ducati's dominance in WorldSBK and sends a strong signal that he is one of the best riders of his generation. The 2026 season will be remembered as the year Bulega and the Panigale V4 R became an unstoppable combination.
