Marco Bezzecchi has issued a public apology after being suspended from the Czech MotoGP following an incident involving a track marshal in the aftermath of Saturday's Sprint Race at Brno.

The championship leader crashed while running inside the top five during the Sprint. Hours after the race, footage emerged showing the Aprilia Racing rider making physical contact with a marshal who was assisting with the recovery of his motorcycle.

The FIM MotoGP Stewards subsequently suspended Bezzecchi from the remainder of the Czech Grand Prix weekend. Aprilia appealed the sanction, but the appeal was rejected and the team later accepted the decision.

In a statement published on his social media channels, Bezzecchi acknowledged his actions and apologised to everyone affected by the incident.

"I would like to apologise to the entire MotoGP community for my behaviour toward the trackside marshal."

"I'm also sorry because I know how much effort and sacrifice marshals make to ensure our safety."

"This behaviour shouldn't happen and there is no justification for it."

"I apologise to everyone, Aprilia Racing and all of my fans."

On Sunday morning, Bezzecchi reportedly visited the marshal post where the incident occurred to apologise in person. Although the stewards considered Aprilia's argument that the rider acted in the heat of the moment after his crash, they ultimately concluded that it did not excuse his conduct.

The suspension could have major consequences for the championship battle. Jorge Martin trails Bezzecchi by only 15 points and now has an opportunity to significantly reduce the gap at Brno. Meanwhile, Marc Marquez could also cut into the championship leader's advantage with another strong result.

The incident adds further pressure on Aprilia management following several difficult episodes in recent rounds. With the 2026 title fight entering a crucial phase, Bezzecchi's absence from the Czech Grand Prix could prove to be one of the defining moments of the season.
