The ambitious Audi Formula 1 project has officially entered a crucial new phase ahead of the upcoming regulatory era. The German manufacturer has formally announced the appointment of Thomas Fuhr as its new Chief Executive Officer to oversee the entire premier class motorsport program based at their state-of-the-art facility in Neuburg, Germany. This strategic leadership shuffle aims to solidify the team's operational framework following the intense development curve of their debut campaign in the world championship.

The incoming German executive will officially take charge at the Neuburg headquarters on November 1, bringing more than three decades of international engineering and leadership expertise to the table. His impressive professional background features a notable tenure as Managing Director of Mercedes-AMG High Performance Powertrains between 2009 and 2012, equipping him with firsthand knowledge of elite motorsport powertrain development during the sport's earlier hybrid revolution.

This high-profile structural adjustment also allows key technical personnel to streamline their daily responsibilities within the factory walls. By bringing in a dedicated chief executive, Stefan Dreyer, who serves as Audi Formula Racing's Chief Technology Officer, can now shift his entire focus toward leading the technical development of the Audi F1 power unit. Meanwhile, Christian Foyer will continue his vital work overseeing the day-to-day operational logistics at the Neuburg site as Chief Operating Officer.

The overarching ambition for the Ingolstadt-based squad remains laser-focused on optimizing every department to eventually establish themselves as the benchmark power unit manufacturer on the Formula 1 grid.

"We have built strong foundations in Neuburg, developing Audi’s first Formula 1 power unit from the ground up," said Mattia Binotto regarding the monumental progress achieved so far. "As Thomas understands both the technical challenge and what it takes to build and lead high-performing teams, I am confident he will play a key role by further developing the team and its organisation to make us the best F1 manufacturer. I am very much looking forward to welcoming him to the team," he concluded.
