Marco Bezzecchi claimed his first MotoGP victory since May at the Indonesian Grand Prix in Mandalika, while Jorge Martin successfully reclaimed the championship lead. Aprilia staged a historic lockout of the top four positions, significantly boosting their various title aspirations while keeping Ducati's main challenger relatively contained.
Bezzecchi had immediately grabbed the holeshot into Turn 1 only to run slightly wide, allowing poleman Raul Fernandez to cut back on the inside and retake first place. Despite racing through the pain barrier following a fracture in his right index finger sustained during Saturday's start crash, Fernandez put up a valiant defense while leading the opening 18 laps.
The resistance finally broke when Bezzecchi launched a decisive maneuver into Turn 1, forcing Fernandez to overcook the corner and surrender the victory bid to concentrate on consolidating second place. Meanwhile, Martin steadily progressed from sixth to third by lap three, though he ultimately lacked the ultimate pace to challenge his fellow Aprilia riders out front.

Intriguing tactical battles unfolded further down the order as Pedro Acosta strategically rolled off the throttle mid-race to let Marc Marquez past in order to generate front tyre heat and dodge potential pressure penalties. This clever chess match played right into the hands of fourth Aprilia rider Ai Ogura, who charged from eighth on the grid to brilliantly overtake both Marquez and Acosta in the closing stages.
Marquez crossed the line 11 seconds adrift in sixth position, leaving him trailing Martin by two points heading out of Mandalika. The chaotic race also witnessed early crashes for Fermin Aldeguer and Pecco Bagnaia, alongside a disastrous double-DNF for Pramac Yamaha after Jack Miller crashed and Toprak Razgatlioglu pitted due to a dislocated shoulder.
