Alpine has officially appointed Mike Elliott as Chief Technical Officer (CTO), a strategic move to strengthen the technical department of the Enstone-based team. Elliott will lead and oversee the technical and engineering functions at the factory, bringing 23 years of Formula 1 experience with Renault, McLaren, and Mercedes.
Elliott's return to Enstone is not new. He previously worked there as Principal Aerodynamist from 2008 to 2012, when the team was known as Renault and Lotus. Now he returns with a more impressive portfolio: as CTO at Mercedes, he contributed to eight Constructors' and eight Drivers' Championships.
Alpine emphasized that this hire aims to enhance the team's technical capabilities to close the gap to the top four teams. Currently, the team, with drivers Pierre Gasly and Franco Colapinto, operates under executive advisor Flavio Briatore and managing director Steve Nielsen, with the A526 car.
Enstone has a glorious history with seven world championships, including drivers' titles with Michael Schumacher and Fernando Alonso. However, in recent years, the team has struggled to be competitive at the front. Elliott's arrival is expected to restore past glory.
Elliott's appointment is part of a series of technical and leadership changes at Alpine. The team aims to reduce the gap to the top teams and return to competitiveness on track.

Elliott returns to Enstone, having previously worked at the team as Principal Aerodynamist from 2008 to 2012. He brings a wealth of experience and expertise, having worked in Formula One for 23 years at Renault, McLaren, and most recently with Mercedes as Chief Technical Officer. He has a proven track record in the sport, having contributed to an impressive 8 Constructors’ and 8 Drivers’ Championships. Elliott’s arrival at Enstone strengthens the team’s technical capabilities as the team looks to build on the improved performances on track and close the gap to the top four teams.”
With extensive experience and a championship-winning track record, Elliott is expected to bring significant changes to Alpine in the highly competitive world of Formula 1.
