Approaching the final stages of the MotoGP season, Ducati Corse General Manager Luigi Dall'Igna has asserted that track characteristics no longer dictate the competitive hierarchy. This statement comes ahead of the upcoming race weekend at the Mandalika circuit in Indonesia, a venue carrying significant memories from past incidents for top contenders.
The Borgo Panigale manufacturer recently completed a crucial mission in Motegi, Japan, where Marc Marquez and the Ducati machinery secured maximum results. Despite the weekend being complicated by tyre compound issues that forced the entire grid to switch to the hard rear tyre for Sunday's Grand Prix following blistering observed during the Sprint race, performance levels remained strong.
The strong outing in Japan allowed the multi-time world champion to dramatically close the gap in the Riders' World Championship standings. The deficit between championship leader Jorge Martin and his closest rivals has narrowed significantly, while Ducati has also drawn level with Aprilia in the constructors' standings.

Now, the paddock prepares for the Indonesian round at Mandalika, a location associated with a major crash for Marc Marquez in previous years. Nevertheless, Ducati management refuses to write off their chances and maintains high optimism amid the intense pressure of the championship battle.
Speaking to the media, Luigi Dall'Igna stated that the crucial end-of-year phase eliminates the notion of favored or unfavored circuits. Addressing the prospects in Indonesia, he emphasized that a rider's individual skill becomes the ultimate deciding factor on the track. As reported by FormulaPassion, he noted that at this late stage of the year, tracks being particularly favorable or unfavorable no longer exist, and a rider can always pull a rabbit out of the hat when necessary.
Furthermore, Dall'Igna predicted that the remaining races of the season will present high levels of difficulty for everyone on the grid. While acknowledging Jorge Martin and Marc Marquez as the favorites, he refused to rule out any rider who remains mathematically in contention for the world title.
