Christian Horner has officially set the record straight regarding intense speculation linking him to the top job at Ferrari and outlined his strict terms for any future return to Formula 1. The 52-year-old Briton addressed the rumors head-on following previous headlines suggesting he viewed the Maranello role as his ultimate dream.
Speaking in a recent interview, Horner clarified that his earlier remarks to the press had been taken out of context, offering words of support for current Scuderia boss Fred Vasseur. He acknowledged the immense pressures of running a competitive organization in the pinnacle of motorsport while defending the job Vasseur has done so far.
Fred Vasseur is an experienced guy and he's done a decent job, Horner stated, emphasizing that he understands the relentless paddock pressure better than most. While describing Ferrari as the biggest brand and most historic team in F1, Horner reiterated his firm stance on team ownership.

The former Red Bull chief explained that any potential future move back into the sport would require an ownership stake attached to it. Because Ferrari has no intention of selling shares, Horner made it clear that a move to Italy is simply not on the cards under his strict criteria.
Concluding his remarks, Horner admitted he is perfectly content sitting outside the sport to evaluate upcoming opportunities. He stressed that returning is not a mandatory requirement and he would only come back for the right project with like-minded individuals dedicated purely to winning.
