Race 1 at WorldSBK Magny-Cours ended with a commanding win for Nicolo Bulega. Yet behind the scenes, Iker Lecuona emerged as a hero after surviving a drama-filled race with crashes and a red flag.
Starting from pole, Bulega lost the lead briefly as Lecuona surged ahead in the opening corners. But the championship leader quickly regained control and never looked back.
Fierce Duel Leads to Chain of Incidents
Lecuona led on lap two, but Bulega retaliated with a bold move that saw them almost touch. After that, Bulega began to pull away, leaving the battle behind.

Behind them, the track turned into a survival zone. Several riders crashed, and a heavy accident for Tommy Bridewell forced a red flag with only 14 riders still running.
New Record and Well-Deserved Podium
When the race restarted, Bulega immediately pushed hard, setting the fastest lap and breaking the lap record. He crossed the line first, while Lecuona secured second and Sam Lowes completed the podium.
