A daring overtaking maneuver at Murray’s Corner decided a fierce battle during the Dunlop Super2 Series round at Mount Panorama. Brad Vaughan successfully capitalized on his single passing opportunity to fend off his rivals and secure a crucial victory that boosts his championship standings.
Intense battles unfolded right from the start when the lights went out. Pole sitter Bailey Sweeny representing Blanchard Racing Team suffered a poor getaway and slumped to eighth place on the opening lap. A similar slow start plagued Ryan Tomsett of Anderson Motorsport, dropping him from second to fourth. These early changes instantly benefited Nash Morris and Brad Vaughan, who vaulted into first and second positions respectively.
The ultimate drama struck on Lap 3 when tension peaked at a critical part of the circuit. Vaughan lunged to the inside of Morris at Murray’s Corner. A heavy door-to-door rub sent Morris sliding off the track through the grass and dropping back to fourth place. The high-profile incident was duly noted by race stewards, but no further investigation was deemed necessary.

Capitalizing on the chaos, Lochie Dalton and Ryan Tomsett took full advantage to claim second and third places respectively. At the head of the field, Vaughan controlled the race impeccably, finishing 3.624 seconds clear of Dalton while Tomsett completed the podium.
Reflecting on his hard-fought triumph, the race winner praised his crew's tireless efforts. The car was a ripper and allowed them to match the pace of their competitors throughout the grueling endurance weekend, bagging crucial points past the halfway mark of the championship.
