MotoGP, Sportrik Media - Marco Bezzecchi secured victory at the 2026 Thai MotoGP in Buriram after a race shaped by late tyre drama, including a puncture suffered by Marc Marquez.
Bezzecchi controlled the decisive stages of the grand prix and maintained his advantage to the chequered flag. Pedro Acosta finished second, with Raul Fernandez completing the podium in third. Jorge Martin crossed the line fourth, while Ai Ogura rounded out the top five.
The complexion of the race shifted in the closing laps when Marquez encountered a tyre puncture, costing him performance and removing him from podium contention. A similar issue had already affected Alex Marquez, whose race unravelled after a tyre problem before crashing in sector two with five laps remaining.

Further drama unfolded with four laps to go when Joan Mir was forced to retire due to a technical engine issue on his Honda HRC machine. Reliability concerns and tyre management proved decisive factors in the final classification.
Behind the leading group, Fabio Di Giannantonio finished sixth ahead of Francesco Bagnaia in seventh. Brad Binder claimed eighth, with Luca Marini and Franco Morbidelli completing the top ten.
The result reinforces Aprilia’s early-season strength while exposing tyre durability and reliability challenges that could influence the championship trajectory as the paddock heads to the next round of the 2026 campaign.
