Haas Formula 1 team principal Ayao Komatsu has firmly dismissed reports claiming that excessive wage demands are holding up Ollie Bearman's contract renewal for the 2027 season, labeling the speculation as absolute nonsense ahead of the Mexico City Grand Prix weekend.
While Bearman's continuation with the squad for next year is widely considered a formality—especially following the confirmation that Esteban Ocon will make way for Rafael Camara—the delay in announcing his formal retention has sparked wild theories across social media platforms regarding potential financial disputes.
Addressing the rumors head-on, Komatsu expressed complete bewilderment over where the figures originated. He pointed out the prevalence of fabricated stories designed purely to generate clicks and likes online, drawing parallels to previous unfounded drama earlier in the season involving alleged paddock arguments that held zero truth.

"I have no idea where that’s coming from. I've experienced this sometimes this season as well. People say there's no smoke without fire, but some people really invent a story," Komatsu stated, emphasizing that the i6 million figure is completely detached from reality and unworthy of engagement from the team.
Although declining to elaborate on the specific reasons for the announcement delay, the team principal reiterated that both parties remain fully aligned in their intentions. He stressed that the collaborative environment, mutual drive, and strong working relationship ensure that finding a solution to continue together next year remains a top priority for everyone involved.
