The 2024 MotoGP world championship fight has reached a thrilling boiling point as the series heads into the final stretch of the season. Former premier class stalwart and current HRC test rider Aleix Espargaro has heaped praise on Jorge Martin and his former factory Aprilia squad for taking the title fight directly to Marc Marquez.
As Espargaro returns to action this weekend at Mandalika as a replacement for Joan Mir, the spotlight remains firmly fixed on the razor-thin margin at the summit of the standings. Speaking to the media, including Crash.net, Espargaro highlighted the magnitude of what his close friend is currently achieving against the seven-time world champion.
"It's a super interesting championship," Espargaro told media at Mandalika. He further stated, "Marc has never in his career lost a head-to-head title fight. So what Jorge is doing is astonishing. I'm happy for him. I'm also very happy for Aprilia, I have to say."

Having served as Aprilia's captain during their remarkable climb from the back of the grid, seeing the Italian brand fighting for world honors against the greatest rider in history holds immense personal value for the veteran rider. He expressed excitement at watching the remainder of the title shootout unfold from a different perspective.
Meanwhile, Jorge Martin remains upbeat about his championship prospects aboard the Ducati machinery, emphasizing that his growing confidence and strong feedback with the bike put him in an ideal position to handle the pressure of the final rounds.
