The seventh round of the 2026 FIA WEC season concluded with an intense battle at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, where victory in the six-hour race went to Brendon Hartley, Ryo Hirakawa, and Sebastien Buemi driving the Toyota GR010 Hybrid. This stellar triumph further extended their championship lead at the top of the standings.
Their journey throughout the 2026 campaign has been nothing short of remarkable. Alongside their latest success in Spain, the trio also triumphed at Toyota's home event at Fuji Speedway in Japan, claimed victory at the season opener in Imola, and secured a vital third-place finish at Le Mans, bringing their total tally to 114 points.
The battle for the drivers' crown is firmly an intra-team affair, as the second place in the standings is also occupied by a Toyota lineup. Mike Conway, Kamui Kobayashi, and Nyck de Vries sit on 97 points, anchored by their crowning victory at the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Mathematically, only these two driver pairings remain in contention for the 2026 world championship title with just one event remaining. With a maximum of 26 points still up for grabs, all other competitors are mathematically out of reach, leaving Hartley, Hirakawa, and Buemi as the firm favorites.
In the manufacturer standings, Toyota has officially clinched their eighth world title. The Japanese manufacturer leads with 212 points, uncatchable ahead of BMW with 154 points and Ferrari with 130 points, ahead of the season finale at Monza.
