The MotoGP paddock has been rocked by a major development after a premier manufacturer officially announced its withdrawal from the upcoming round in the Middle East. Ongoing regional conflicts have forced Yamaha to pull all of its machinery from the upcoming event at the Lusail International Circuit due to strict corporate travel restrictions.

In an official statement, the Iwata factory confirmed it had informed championship organizers that it will not field its four bikes for the race weekend. The decision stems from corporate evaluations regarding safety concerns and travel limitations tied to geopolitical tensions, independent of the measures implemented by series promoters.

"Following its latest assessment of the situation in the Middle East, Yamaha has not identified sufficient grounds to change its existing company-wide travel restrictions," the statement read. "As a result, Yamaha has informed MotoGP Group about its decision not to participate in the Qatar Grand Prix. This decision reflects Yamaha's assessment of the information currently available and is independent of the measures implemented by MotoGP Group and the event organiser."

While the manufacturer's statement omitted specific team names, the policy applies universally to both the factory outfit and their partner squad. Despite the sudden absence in the desert, the marque emphasized its ongoing dedication to the world championship and confirmed plans to resume competition at the subsequent Portuguese Grand Prix.

Meanwhile, championship organizers swiftly responded to the unexpected news, warning that the non-participation carries significant sporting and contractual repercussions. The FIM is expected to handle any regulatory consequences in accordance with the established championship rulebook.

"MotoGP is disappointed by Yamaha's decision not to participate in the Qatar Grand Prix," organizers stated. "While we recognise the team is subject to a broader corporate policy restricting travel to the Middle East, we do not believe this decision reflects the extensive assurances provided to all championship stakeholders. We welcome the confirmation from the remainder of the grid that they will compete in Qatar, and we thank them for that commitment."
