Nicolo Bulega cemented his absolute dominance in the 2026 WorldSBK season by securing a brilliant victory in Race 2 at the Estoril Circuit. The Italian rider delivered a flawless performance ahead of his rivals, capping off a remarkable weekend that further underlines his stellar form throughout the championship.
When the lights went out at Estoril, the race immediately delivered intense drama at the front. Alvaro Bautista made a surprising and strong start, shooting up into third place. Meanwhile, a fierce battle for the lead unfolded between Bulega and Iker Lecuona, before the Italian rider ultimately seized full control of the race.
The race was marked by several crashes involving various riders, leaving only 18 competitors out on track. The biggest disaster befell Bautista while he was fighting hard to defend his podium spot. Misfortune struck at turn one, dashing the defending champion's hopes of securing a strong finish and leaving him visibly frustrated in the gravel trap.

Entering the second half of the race, Bulega steadily extended his gap over Lecuona, who eventually eased off the pressure to safely secure second place until the checkered flag. Elsewhere, local riders struggled with unforced errors that hindered their progress throughout the demanding Portuguese round.
As the 2026 season approaches its grand finale, this latest masterclass allows Bulega to surpass previous victory records held by his teammate. The upcoming final showdown at Jerez promises an unforgettable conclusion to another thrilling WorldSBK campaign.
