The Williams F1 Team is preparing to celebrate its remarkable half-century milestone in premier single-seater racing by hosting a two-week fan experience in the heart of London. Entitled W50 Live, the blockbuster exhibition will take over Leake Street from February 11 to 28, 2027, showcasing a comprehensive journey through five decades of supreme heritage from one of the sport's most successful outfits.
Visitors and dedicated fans attending the venue will be granted a rare opportunity to inspect several of the most iconic racing machines to ever grace the world circuits. The curated lineup features the FW06 as the very first chassis produced by Williams Grand Prix Engineering, alongside the championship-winning FW11B driven by Nelson Piquet during his triumphant 1987 campaign.
The exhibition space will also house other engineering masterpieces, including the dominant FW14B that propelled Nigel Mansell to the 1992 world title and the FW19 associated with Jacques Villeneuve's 1997 championship run. Attendees can additionally marvel at the FW25 piloted by Juan Pablo Montoya in 2003 and the FW38 which famously achieved a record-shattering top speed of 378kph courtesy of Valtteri Bottas.

Looking beyond the glorious past, the event will provide a glimpse into the future by displaying a show car representing the squad's upcoming 2027 charger, designated as the FW50. This naming convention directly commemorates the team's half-century milestone, echoing a similar approach taken during their 40th anniversary when the designation transitioned directly from the FW38 lineage to the FW40.
These golden jubilee celebrations reflect an extraordinary pedigree within Formula 1 encompassing nine constructors' championship titles, seven drivers' championship crowns, and an impressive tally of 114 grand prix victories. This monumental feat establishes the historic squad as only the third entity in motorsport history, trailing only Ferrari and McLaren, to reach 50 consecutive years of elite competition.
The strategic choice of Leake Street carries deep historical significance, as the venue's industrial railway arches mirror the modest setting where team founder Frank Williams originally discovered co-founder Patrick Head working away inside a London garage. It serves as a fitting homage bringing the milestone celebrations right back to the industrial roots of the outfit.
Marcus Prosser, marketing director of Williams F1 Team, noted that the interactive showcase aims to deliver a novel way of connecting with global supporters. The gathering acts as a dedicated platform to honor the cars, legendary figures, and extraordinary narratives that cemented the organization's iconic status in modern motorsport.
Standard admission tickets begin at £19.50 with advance booking strongly recommended given anticipated high demand from motorsport enthusiasts worldwide. Fans can also participate in exclusive competitions via the official team website and mobile application for a chance to secure a VIP trip to the official FW50 launch event.
