Cadillac Formula 1 driver Valtteri Bottas has successfully captured global attention by completing an extraordinary physical journey between race weekends. Instead of taking a conventional short flight between the neighboring countries, the veteran racer chose an unconventional and grueling mode of transport to arrive at the paddock.
As reported by Crash.net, the Finnish driver took to social media on Wednesday to confirm that he had officially wrapped up an incredible 419.67km commute starting from the outskirts of the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur all the way down to Singapore. Valtteri Bottas meticulously documented his entire expedition on Strava, treating his millions of followers to clips of his grueling route.
Rather than sticking to smooth tarmac, a significant portion of the journey saw Valtteri Bottas tackling demanding off-road and gravel terrains. His intense schedule included covering over 160km on both Monday and Tuesday, spending roughly six hours in the saddle for each leg, before arriving in time to fulfill his mandatory media commitments ahead of the action.
The fourth and final leg required a final push of just over 40km completed in one hour and 39 minutes as he finally reached the heart of Singapore. Bottas is well-known throughout the paddock for his passion for cycling, often spotted riding around various F1 circuits, a hobby shared with his professional cyclist partner.
This remarkable display of endurance comes during a demanding return to the grid for Valtteri Bottas, who continues his relentless search for championship points in his debut campaign with the new Cadillac outfit amidst a challenging season defined by high-attrition races.
