MotoGP, Sportrik Media - Fabio Di Giannantonio of the VR46 Racing Team will start the 2026 United States MotoGP Sprint race at COTA from pole position after delivering a record-breaking lap in qualifying.
The Ducati rider continues his strong momentum after ending a four-year pole drought in Brazil, now securing back-to-back pole positions. His one-lap performance places him as a key contender heading into the 10-lap Sprint race.
On the front row alongside him are championship leader Marco Bezzecchi of Aprilia Racing and Pedro Acosta representing KTM, both of whom have shown consistent pace throughout the weekend.

The second row features a tightly matched group, with Francesco Bagnaia from the Ducati Lenovo Team, Joan Mir of Honda, and Marc Marquez completing the top six.
However, the grid order remains subject to potential revision for Sunday’s grand prix. Several riders, including Bezzecchi, Marquez, and Ai Ogura, are under investigation by FIM Stewards for alleged slow riding on the racing line during qualifying.
If penalties are applied, the standard sanction of a three-place grid drop for the grand prix could alter the competitive order significantly, impacting race strategies and starting positions.
The grid is reduced to 21 riders following the withdrawal of Maverick Vinales from Red Bull KTM Tech3, due to a shoulder issue linked to a previously inserted screw from earlier surgery.
The 10-lap Sprint race is scheduled to begin at 3:00 PM local time, with COTA’s demanding layout expected to test braking stability, traction control, and tyre management across all manufacturers.
