The Bahrain Grand Prix left a bitter taste in the Brackley camp as Toto Wolff openly admitted to being deeply frustrated following a late mechanical heartbreak that sidelined George Russell.
Starting strongly after an incredible launch alongside teammate Kimi Antonelli, the Silver Arrows squad looked poised to secure a stellar double-podium finish. However, those hopes evaporated instantly when a power unit failure struck Russell's machine on lap 50 right as the safety car period was drawing to a close.
Wolff made no effort to hide his dismay in his post-race media debrief, confirming that the issue was an unprovoked power unit failure rather than a consequence of the safety car procedures. The team principal stated that the weekend's lack of raw pace already left them with substantial homework to do.

Compounded by unfavorable VSC and safety car timings, as well as intense battles on track, the race quickly unraveled into what Wolff described as one of his worst experiences at a grand prix weekend, severely hurting both driver and constructor championship campaigns.
Despite the setback, Antonelli continues to command the drivers' standings with 320 points, while Russell holds second with 236 points ahead of the remaining rounds in the current Formula 1 season.
