Thierry Neuville believes his Acropolis Rally Greece lead is not simply down to luck, even though he moved to the front after his team-mate suffered a puncture at the end of Friday morning's loop.
The Hyundai driver identified the car's gravel performance as one of the main factors behind his position. Neuville said the car is more competitive on gravel than on tarmac, while his comfort inside the car has allowed him to maintain rhythm without taking unnecessary risks.
Neuville also pointed to a favourable road position and his ability to avoid major hazards so far. With Acropolis roads covered in rocks, the rally is being shaped not only by speed but also by risk management and keeping the car intact.

"I don't think it's just luck when you're leading a World Rally Championship event. You have to take every factor into consideration," said Neuville.
The greatest stress remains on the tyres and the underside of the car. Neuville said his car took several heavy impacts during the morning loop, making midday service crucial for checking components and preparing for the next three special stages.
With Sebastien Ogier still applying pressure behind and the Stiri stage set to be repeated in the afternoon loop, Neuville stressed that avoiding rocks and preserving tyres will remain decisive before Acropolis Rally Greece moves into Saturday's leg.
