The Women's Circuit Racing World Championship, widely known as WorldWCR, is preparing for a major technical transformation heading toward the upcoming 2027 season. After relying on the Yamaha R7 for three successful consecutive seasons, the championship will officially switch to using the CF Moto 675SR-R as the sole control motorcycle. This strategic agreement between series organizers and the Chinese manufacturer has been locked in through a three-season contract, opening an exciting new chapter in international motorcycle racing.
This transition will introduce a drastically different technical landscape and riding dynamic for competitors on the grid. While both machines belong to the sportbike category, they operate under fundamentally contrasting engine concepts. The previous Japanese machine relied on a 689cc parallel-twin engine producing around 73 horsepower, whereas the incoming Chinese challenger features a 674cc three-cylinder layout capable of generating an impressive 90 horsepower.
This substantial power bump provides a massive performance advantage on paper for the entire WorldWCR grid. Furthermore, strict championship regulations strictly prohibit any performance-enhancing engine modifications, ensuring a fair yet thrilling playing field. Top-speed figures, which previously struggled to break the 200 kilometers-per-hour mark on certain circuits with the old machinery, are now expected to increase by an estimated 20 to 30 kilometers per hour.
Naturally, such a significant increase in velocity will dramatically alter braking phases across various circuits. Riders will need to demonstrate exceptional skill, courage, and precision when scrubbing off speed ahead of corner entries. The heavy braking zones will now serve as a primary battleground where talented female riders can truly showcase their race craft, opening up fresh overtaking opportunities and intensified wheel-to-wheel duels.
Beyond the raw power output, competitors will also welcome upgrades to the handling department, addressing a frequent point of criticism from past seasons. The new machine comes equipped with fully adjustable KYB suspension systems right out of the box. To maintain strict cost control within the women's world championship, regulations will still prohibit swapping out the damper elements entirely. With all these updates in place, the future of women's motorcycle racing looks faster, sharper, and more competitive than ever.
