Ducati team manager Davide Tardozzi has firmly dismissed suggestions that Marc Marquez deserved a penalty for his dramatic Sprint clash at the Lusail International Circuit. The heated incident occurred when Aprilia Racing's Marco Bezzecchi attempted a late dive down the inside at Turn 1, resulting in a sudden collision with the championship leader.
Surprisingly, it was Bezzecchi who came off worse, sliding into the gravel trap while Marquez managed an incredible save despite his airbag deploying upon impact. The FIM Stewards quickly ruled it a racing incident requiring no further action, a verdict that drew clear frustration from Aprilia management.
Speaking from the pit lane, Tardozzi defended his rider's positioning and argued against any intentional wrongdoing. "No way Marc takes a risk from the outside, because normally it’s the rider on the outside who is in trouble," Tardozzi stated firmly when discussing the dynamics of the corner entry.

He further expressed confidence in the official officiating process, noting that the panel thoroughly reviewed all available angles. "So luckily, he doesn't crash, but I think that the Stewards checked the situation very well, and if they took this decision, I think it's the right one," he added.
With Marquez maintaining total focus on maximizing his championship advantage through the final stages of the 20th round, the Italian manufacturer remains entirely unfazed by the paddock chatter as the title fight reaches its thrilling climax.
