The FIA Formula 2 race directors have decided against penalizing Noel Leon and Rafael Camara after both were placed under investigation for allegedly gaining an advantage by cutting the Turn 5 chicane during the Sprint Race in Madrid. The final classification remains unchanged.
The outcome comes as a relief for Camara. The Brazilian driver finished sixth, securing valuable points that now leave him just eight points behind championship leader Nikola Tsolov. Tsolov himself endured a tough race, retiring after a spin that sparked controversy.
Tsolov's incident drew significant attention. His spin was suspected to be a consequence of a lack of team orders for Leon to hand over fourth place to his teammate. The situation put Leon in the spotlight, though he ultimately avoided any penalty. Meanwhile, Gabriele Mini could only manage ninth, failing to capitalize on Tsolov's retirement to close the gap in the standings.
