Oscar Piastri has expressed full satisfaction with the team's management response following the dramatic intra-team collision at the previous round. The Australian driver shared his assessment during the official FIA press conference in Austin ahead of the United States Grand Prix, following crucial discussions with senior team personnel.

The controversial incident occurred on the final lap of the Singapore Grand Prix sprint race when Lando Norris attempted a late overtake on his teammate for fourth place at Turn 5. The resulting contact sent both machines spinning, forcing Piastri into the barriers for a bitter retirement, while Norris salvaged a solitary point by crossing the line in eighth place.

While the race stewards opted to take no further action, team principal Andrea Stella immediately labeled the collision as unacceptable. Management quickly initiated clear internal talks alongside CEO Zak Brown to address the aerodynamic and strategic implications of the clash for the remainder of the 2026 season.

“I've been happy with how things have been dealt with,” Piastri stated when asked about the post-race discussions in Austin. “I think the team and Zak and Andrea have handled things the way they should have been. So that's been fine. I think it was dealt with appropriately, and we're ready to go racing again.”

Norris has since taken full accountability for the mishap, admitting that his risk-taking behavior ultimately let down the entire organization during a vital phase of the constructors' championship. McLaren currently faces immense pressure at the top of the standings as their once-comfortable margin has dramatically shrunk following a dominant charge from rival teams in recent races.

Meanwhile, Piastri continues his personal development campaign inside the cockpit, currently sitting seventh in the drivers' standings with 138 points. Although still striving for a higher competitive baseline with his machinery, the young charger acknowledges clear signs of technical progress.
