Jorge Martin secured pole position for the 2026 Silverstone MotoGP race after breaking the lap record. The Aprilia rider also won the Sprint, boosting his chances of a perfect double at the British GP.
Martin edged out Raul Fernandez by just 0.021s in qualifying. Fernandez, riding for Trackhouse, alongside teammate Ai Ogura, locked out the front row for Aprilia. It's a strong signal of the Noale factory's dominance this weekend.
Behind them, Fabio Di Giannantonio was the fastest Ducati rider in fourth. Marco Bezzecchi, Martin's teammate, completed the Sprint podium and will start fifth. Meanwhile, reigning champion Marc Marquez had to settle for sixth after struggling with rear grip throughout the Sprint.

Drama in Qualifying and Sprint
Iker Lecuona and Franco Morbidelli impressed by advancing to Q2 and securing eighth and tenth on the grid. However, a first-lap tangle in the Sprint left Lecuona on the ground. That's certainly a concern ahead of the main race.
Jack Miller and Joan Mir were the best Yamaha and Honda riders respectively, starting 11th and 12th. There are no penalties, so the grid is official.
The main MotoGP race at Silverstone 2026 will start at 1pm local time on Sunday, after the Moto2 and Moto3 races. Can Martin convert pole into victory and extend his championship lead? All eyes will be on him.
