The majority of the premier class grid in MotoGP has voiced severe concerns over the deteriorating track surface at the Sepang International Circuit ahead of the Malaysian Grand Prix weekend. Delayed resurfacing work has left the asphalt in a deeply alarming condition.
Several riders revealed being struck by loose pieces of tarmac during Friday's practice sessions, with the degradation clearly visible compared to the pre-season test held back in February. The entire track was slated for resurfacing this year, but unforeseen delays put those plans on hold, leaving the circuit vulnerable.
Honda rider Luca Marini openly criticized the layout, stating that almost the entire circuit is in poor condition and forcing riders to simply find a way to survive the weekend safely.

"The condition is really difficult, really strange. The tarmac is completely destroyed, so we just need to find a way to survive better," Marini explained regarding the treacherous circuit layout.
Meanwhile, VR46 rider Fabio Di Giannantonio joked that riders might need extra protective gear due to the barrage of loose stones coming off the deteriorating racing line during practice starts.
