George Russell continued his impressive form at Monza, topping the final practice session for the 2026 Italian Grand Prix. The Mercedes driver clocked a 1m22.219s lap, extending his dominance from Friday.
Russell was seen practicing tows with teammate Kimi Antonelli, who will start from the back of the grid. Meanwhile, Lewis Hamilton secured second for Ferrari, narrowly ahead of Max Verstappen in third.
Late-Session Flashpoint
Tensions flared near the end of the session when Max Verstappen and Hamilton nearly collided. The pair came close to contact just moments before the chequered flag, reigniting talk of their fierce rivalry.
McLaren, meanwhile, appear to be struggling this weekend. Lando Norris could only manage fifth, with Oscar Piastri down in eighth. It is a worrying sign for the Woking-based squad as they aim to challenge at the front.
Aston Martin's Struggles Continue
At the other end of the timesheets, Aston Martin endured another difficult session, with Lance Stroll slowest of all. Speed trap data showed they are significantly down on straight-line speed compared to Mercedes, a major concern heading into the race.
With FP3 complete, the battle for pole position promises to be intense. All eyes now turn to qualifying, where the grid for Sunday's race will be decided.
