The endurance racing world is facing a major shake-up as Robert Kubica has officially announced that he will not continue with Ferrari’s satellite squad, AF Corse, for the upcoming World Endurance Championship season. The veteran driver made the revelation shortly after the chequered flag dropped at the gruelling 6 Hours of Monza finale.
The 41-year-old concluded his final weekend with the team by crossing the finish line in sixth place aboard the #83 499P Hypercar, sharing driving duties with Philip Hanson and Yifei Ye. Taking to social media in a video message, he made it clear that his famous yellow machine stint has now come to an end.
“Final race done, end of season. Normally, I am not used to summing it up, and I do not want to sum up the year,” Kubica stated in his video update. “But just to let you know, this has been my last race in yellow. That is how it is. Let us see what the future will bring. Thank you for the support and see you soon.”

Kubica has been an integral part of Ferrari's third Hypercar entry since its inception in 2024, stepping up to the premier class following his dominant LMP2 championship victory with WRT. Before joining the Italian marque's expanded effort in a surprise move, he was heavily linked with Jota's Porsche operations.
The absolute pinnacle of his three-year tenure with the team arrived when he triumphed at the legendary Le Mans 24 Hours, playing a fundamental role in securing Ferrari's prestigious victory at the Circuit de la Sarthe. However, the subsequent campaign proved significantly more challenging for the #83 crew amid a broader competitive slump for the Maranello manufacturer.
While the factory #50 car tasted victory at Austin and the sister #51 entry secured multiple podiums throughout the eight-round calendar, a pair of fifth-place finishes was the peak result for Kubica, Hanson, and Ye. Uniquely, while Hanson and Ye retained direct manufacturer backing from Ferrari, Kubica raced independently under the AF Corse banner without official factory contracts.
As of now, the former Formula 1 race winner has yet to disclose his exact plans for the future. Meanwhile, AF Corse faces decisions regarding its driver lineup and its long-term presence in the Hypercar category, especially with upcoming entries from heavyweights like Ford and McLaren looming on the horizon.
