French manufacturer Renault has officially announced its latest motorsport venture by confirming the development of a brand-new Rally5 contender slated for a competitive debut in 2027.
The upcoming rally machine will be based heavily on the sixth generation of the manufacturer's popular supermini platform, built strictly in accordance with the FIA's revised Rally5 technical regulations for 2027.
According to the manufacturer, the primary objective behind this new project is to offer private drivers and promising young motorsport competitors an accessible and affordable entry point into rallying.

The current iteration of the Clio Rally5 has established a strong foothold in national rallying over the past several years, serving as a staple choice particularly for amateur competitors.
Renault’s motorsport machinery historically enjoys a massive presence in France, where the brand successfully operates its own dedicated one-make series across both gravel and asphalt surfaces.
The next-generation rally car will follow a similar rollout strategy, making its initial market introduction in France where two distinct one-make series will be hosted in 2027—one tailored for asphalt and another for gravel.
Following its domestic deployment, the new vehicle is intended to be exported and launched across various international motorsport markets to support grassroots competitors worldwide.
At the time of the announcement, the manufacturer has yet to disclose any specific technical details regarding the new rally car, nor has any official sale price been revealed.
The car is scheduled to receive its official public unveiling in the coming weeks, alongside the planned release of the 2027 calendars for both of its prominent one-make series.
