Raul Fernandez Wins MotoGP Silverstone, Aprilia Sweeps Podium

Raul Fernandez stunned the field at the 2025 British MotoGP, taking a dominant victory at Silverstone on Sunday. The Trackhouse rider held his nerve through 20 chaotic laps, securing his first premier-class win and leading an all-Aprilia podium.

From pole, Fernandez made a clean start, diving into the first corners ahead of Marco Bezzecchi and Jorge Martin. The drama began almost immediately as Joan Mir and Alex Rins crashed at Turn 7 on the opening lap, ending their home race in despair.

Fernandez controlled the pace at the front, but the race was far from calm. Enea Bastianini, Iker Lecuona, Cal Crutchlow, and Francesco Bagnaia all fell at the same treacherous Turn 7, while Ai Ogura crashed at Turn 16. The attrition rate was brutal.

Alex Marquez briefly challenged for the podium but a mistake dropped him to fifth. The battle for third between Bezzecchi and Alex Marquez intensified, while Marc Marquez and Fabio Di Giannantonio fought hard for sixth.

Fernandez remained unflappable, crossing the line 2.538 seconds ahead of Martin. Bezzecchi completed the podium, 3.393 seconds back, as Alex Marquez and Pedro Acosta rounded out the top five.

The championship picture shifted dramatically. Martin still leads with 233 points, but Bezzecchi is now second with 204, just one point ahead of Ai Ogura. Fernandez leaps to sixth with 175 points, while Aprilia celebrates a historic podium lockout.

This victory signals Aprilia's resurgence and sets up an intense battle for the remainder of the season. With three riders on the podium, they've sent a clear warning to their rivals.
