A major roster update is officially locked in for the Pramac Yamaha squad ahead of the 2027 Moto2 World Championship season, securing one of the brightest young talents from the lightweight class. Promising Spanish teenager Alvaro Carpe will step up to the intermediate category, donning the squad's colors next year following a series of stellar campaigns in Grand Prix racing.

The 19-year-old's trajectory has been nothing short of remarkable. During his rookie Moto3 season with KTM-Ajo, he immediately turned heads by claiming five podium finishes and securing fourth overall in the championship standings. Moving into 2026, his upward momentum continued relentlessly with already seven podium finishes under his belt, keeping him firmly locked in an intense battle for a top-three finish in the world championship.

This crucial career milestone was officially announced by the Italian outfit's management led by team boss Paolo Campinoti ahead of the Malaysian Grand Prix weekend. The upcoming promotion marks a defining moment for the young rider as he prepares to tackle a brand-new technical challenge in the highly competitive intermediate class.

"Moving up to Moto2 means a lot to me, and doing this step together with the BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha team makes it something very special," stated Alvaro Carpe, expressing his immense excitement about the multi-year project. He extended his gratitude to the factory and management for bestowing such an incredible opportunity upon his shoulders.

Carpe's arrival at the squad for 2027 will see him step into the seat currently occupied by Izan Guevara. The outgoing rider is currently locked in a fierce fight for the intermediate class world title alongside Manuel Gonzalez from the Intact GP squad before making his much-anticipated graduation to the premier MotoGP class.

On the other side of the garage, stability remains the key theme for the team's lineup. Fellow rookie Alberto Ferrandez is confirmed to complete his second consecutive season with the Italian squad next year, serving as a core pillar of the long-term talent development initiative.
