With this win, the total number of Spanish victories in world championship grand prix racing now stands at 221. Acosta joins the ranks of Fermin Aldeguer, who last entered the list with a win at the 2025 Indonesian GP, and Joan Mir, who won the 2020 European GP in Valencia. Other single-race winners include Alberto Puig (1995 Spanish GP) and Toni Elias (2006 Portuguese GP).
Several Spanish riders have multiple MotoGP wins: Raul Fernandez and Carlos Checa each have two, Aleix Espargaro has three, Alex Marquez has four, and Alex Rins, who will retire at the end of the season, has six. Sete Gibernau and Jorge Martin are tied on nine wins, while Maverick Vinales has ten despite his recent injury.
At the top of the standings, Alex Criville has 15 wins, followed by Dani Pedrosa with 31, Jorge Lorenzo with 47, and Marc Marquez leading with 78. Marquez's latest victory came at this year's Misano GP, solidifying his status as Spain's most successful MotoGP rider.
Acosta's achievement signals a bright future for Spanish racing. At just 21 years old, he has already shown he can compete at the highest level.
