Pedro Acosta Admits Marc Marquez Was Untouchable at Sepang

Another stellar performance was delivered by Pedro Acosta during the high-stakes premier class racing weekend at the Sepang International Circuit. The Spanish prodigy successfully secured another crucial podium finish after engaging in a fierce battle against tough rivals throughout the second half of the race.

The race at Sepang immediately presented high tension right from the start lights. Acosta had to withstand intense pressure from Alex Marquez in the fight for the front positions. Capitalizing on a crucial gap between the ninth and tenth laps, the young rider successfully executed a clean overtaking maneuver and fended off subsequent pressure.

Reflecting on his podium success, Acosta openly acknowledged the absolute dominance displayed by Marc Marquez on the Sepang track. According to him, the pace of the factory Ducati machine was in a completely different league and practically impossible to catch today.

"I am satisfied. I think we are getting the absolute maximum out of our package and doing a great job with the team," Acosta expressed while reviewing his race performance.

"At the beginning of the race, I lacked top speed on the straight compared to Alex. I decided to stay calm, manage my tires behind him, and push from the halfway point of the race onwards," he added.

Despite securing a brilliant podium, the young Spanish talent admitted that his machine's performance still trails behind the dominant Italian manufacturers. He emphasized that his primary focus is now securing the best possible position in the championship standings.

"Right now, we are simply not at the level of Ducati and Aprilia. Bezzecchi is my most direct rival in the battle for third place in the championship standings," Acosta concluded. Read our in-depth analysis here.
