Pascal Wehrlein has reclaimed the lead of the 2026 Formula E standings following a podium finish at the Berlin E-Prix Round 8 at Tempelhof, shifting championship momentum back towards Porsche.
The race, won by Mitch Evans of Jaguar TCS Racing, highlighted the importance of energy strategy and ATTACK MODE timing. Evans executed a highly efficient race from 17th on the grid, using his 50kW boosts strategically to take the lead in the closing stages.
Oliver Rowland of Nissan secured second place, continuing his consistent run of podium finishes. However, despite strong pace, his energy deployment in the final laps was not sufficient to counter Evans, who retained a marginal energy advantage when it mattered most.

Wehrlein, who failed to score in Round 7 due to a technical issue, capitalised on his third-place finish to return to the top of the standings. His approach focused on controlled energy usage and balanced ATTACK MODE deployment, ensuring consistent pace throughout the race.
“We knew this race would be decided by energy strategy. A podium here is very important for the championship, especially after yesterday,” said Wehrlein.
“We maximised what we had today. There are still many races to go, and consistency will be key in the title fight.”
The result also strengthens Porsche’s position in both the Teams’ and Manufacturers’ standings, following Nico Mueller’s victory in Round 7. The combined performance underlines the team’s ability to balance qualifying speed and race efficiency.
With a significant shift in the drivers’ standings, attention now turns to Monaco. The tight street circuit will again place emphasis on energy efficiency and precision, key factors that could define the next phase of the championship battle.
