Lando Norris has secured his Formula 1 future by signing a long-term contract extension with McLaren, keeping him with the team until the end of 2030. The reigning World Champion has spent his entire F1 career with the Woking-based squad since his debut in 2019.
Norris has been an integral part of McLaren's resurgence, helping the team climb from midfield struggles back to the top. He played a key role in securing the team's first Constructors' Championship since 1998 in 2024, and then backed it up by retaining the title last year while also clinching his maiden Drivers' Championship in a dramatic season finale in Abu Dhabi.
Although this season has been challenging for Norris in his title defense, he has been instrumental in McLaren's mid-season revival, with victories in the last two races, including his 13th Grand Prix win at Zandvoort.
In a statement, Lando Norris expressed his delight, saying, "McLaren is my home, and I'm very pleased to be signing a new contract to keep me with the team until at least 2030. When I started this journey nine years ago, I was clear about the goals I wanted to achieve: to get McLaren back to the front and to win Championships."
He added, "We've achieved that goal, but we want more; we want to keep on winning. I can't wait to get back in the car in Monza and I'm very excited about what the future holds for us."
Team Principal Andrea Stella praised Norris's commitment, calling him "an exceptional driver" and highlighting his growth within the team. "Lando has been an integral part of McLaren's journey and success over the last nine years. He is an exceptional driver who combines natural speed with maturity, consistency, and a strong commitment to McLaren," Stella said.
Stella also emphasized the importance of continuity, adding, "With him and Oscar Piastri, we know we can count on one of the strongest partnerships and one of the most united teams in Formula 1."
