Nicolo Bulega delivered another masterclass in WorldSBK, claiming a dominant victory in a red-flagged Race 2 at Magny-Cours to complete his eighth treble of the 2026 season.
The Ducati rider stormed into the lead from the start, leaving teammate Iker Lecuona and Alberto Surra behind as Yari Montella initially lost third. But Montella fought back to reclaim the podium spot, while the battle behind the leading pack heated up.
Drama and Crashes Behind the Ducati Train
Andrea Locatelli suffered a bizarre crash at the penultimate corner, his bike sliding down pitlane after contact with Stefano Manzi. He later crashed out again, while Alex Lowes and Jake Dixon also fell, shaking up the order.
Lorenzo Baldassarri methodically closed in on Surra and made the pass stick with seven laps remaining. Further back, Alvaro Bautista pressured Tommy Bridewell for sixth, eventually making a move stick, but Bridewell's late crash at Turn 3 damaged the air fence, forcing officials to throw the red flag.
Bulega Untouchable En Route to Victory
Bulega led every single lap, crossing the line with a comfortable margin over Lecuona, while Montella completed the podium. The all-Ducati top six was rounded out by Baldassarri, Surra, and Bautista. Garrett Gerloff was the best of the rest in seventh for Kawasaki.
