Thierry Neuville admitted that the disappointment at Rally Finland served as a valuable lesson. Now, he is preparing a different set-up for his Hyundai to tackle the upcoming WRC Paraguay this week.
For the Belgian driver, Paraguay presents a different challenge after two ultra-fast gravel rounds in Estonia and Finland. The more technical route should suit his driving style well.
"I'm really looking forward to Paraguay. After two fast rallies, we are back to more typical gravel stages, with a more dynamic and technical profile, which I generally prefer," Neuville said in an official statement.

His first impression when Paraguay hosted its first WRC round last year was very positive. The great atmosphere created by the local fans made Neuville eager to return.
"I really enjoyed the stages last year and the atmosphere was great, so I can't wait to be back," he added.
Beyond the atmosphere, that first visit provided valuable data for Hyundai. According to Neuville, the technical choices made last year have led to different set-up decisions this time around.
"We learned a lot from the event last year, particularly with some of the technical choices we made, so this year we have made some different choices with the set-up," he explained.
However, not everything can be solved with the set-up. The pronounced road cambers and changeable weather in Paraguay can quickly shake up the order. "The roads are also quite cambered and the weather can play an important role – when it rained last year, it was super slippery," Neuville noted.
Despite being fast in Finland, the final result was far from what he hoped. But a strong Sunday performance at least restored his confidence. "Finland didn't go as we wanted, although we had the speed and were back to a good feeling on Sunday," he said.
Neuville's target in Paraguay is clear: no playing safe. He is not heading to South America to settle for points, but to win. "For me, I'm only chasing victories and the best possible results, so the target in Paraguay is as high as it can be," he concluded.
