The Max Verstappen express has well and truly found its rhythm again, with Red Bull Racing remaining undefeated through this intense October stretch of the Formula 1 calendar. The four-time world champion put on a masterclass once more, following up his dominant performances with a stunning maiden victory under the lights at the Marina Bay Circuit. This remarkable surge has propelled him up to fourth place in the 2026 drivers' standings with 221 points, closing in rapidly on Lewis Hamilton.

Despite converting another pole position into a brilliant victory—his third consecutive win including the sprint format—the journey to the top step was far from straightforward. Verstappen immediately highlighted a shaky start off the line, admitting that his clutch felt far from ideal before the lights even went out, narrowly fending off rivals into the opening complex.

"The start was critical, and it was just about good enough. But again something wasn't quite right when pulling away, so I need to understand what went wrong there. Before I let the clutch go, it didn't feel good. Fortunately, it was enough in the first turn against Charles," Verstappen explained.

Compounding the early race drama, the Dutchman wrestled with electrical power delivery issues that almost allowed his rivals to overtake him through turn 7. Once the engineering crew successfully rectified the power deployment glitches, the car's behavior stabilized dramatically, allowing him to execute a flawless tire management strategy on both soft and medium compounds.

"The car was really gentle on the tyres. I could keep the tyre management under control. I've rarely driven in front in Singapore, so not in the turbulent air of opponents, that was nice," he noted, emphasizing how clear air aided his dominant pace.

Adding to the weekend's hurdles was a severely malfunctioning team radio system that produced pure static for the pit wall. To overcome the communication breakdown, race engineer Gianpiero Lambiase instituted a clever fallback protocol where Verstappen simply clicked his radio button for affirmative answers and stayed silent for negative ones.

Reflecting on the sheer physical toll of bouncing through the bumpy city streets throughout the grueling weekend, Verstappen humorously quipped that navigating the grueling layout means he will practically require a brand new spine for the upcoming Grand Prix challenges.
