The premier class grid order was shaken up dramatically as Marco Bezzecchi stormed to a sensational pole position during a high-stakes qualifying session at the Lusail International Circuit. The Italian rider unleashed a blistering lap time of 1 minute 50.028 seconds under the desert floodlights, leaving his closest challengers trailing in his wake.
The battle for supremacy ignited immediately as Q2 got underway. Marc Marquez initially stunned the paddock with a rapid lap that briefly shattered the track record. However, Bezzecchi answered back with supreme poise and unmatched sector speed in the closing moments to snatch the coveted pole slot away.
Further down the order, Q1 provided plenty of nail-biting drama as riders fought tooth and nail for the remaining promotion spots. Track limits violations and late improvements kept the garage mechanics on edge until the checkered flag dropped on the opening phase.
Meanwhile, other championship contenders faced a steep uphill battle after struggling to unlock optimal grip from their machine setups. The challenging grid positions set the stage for an intense tactical showdown during the upcoming main race.
